Whether designing research studies or evaluating individual nutrition education programs, it is critical to collect data using validated evaluation tools/measures to have confidence in program outcomes. Depending on available resources and expertise, a program could develop tools specifically tailored to its own needs OR adopt an “appropriate,” previously validated tool. The goal of this presentation is to provide participants with useful guidelines for developing nutrition education evaluation tools or selecting other’s tools using accepted protocols.
